Laibach marked the sixth anniversary of Leonard Cohen’s passing last week with the release of a suitably dark cover of “The Future.”

The track features a guest vocal by Donna Marina Mårtensson. The single is out on Mute Records. Its video – not available for embedding – is up on YouTube.

This is not the Slovenian group’s first crack at covering one of the greats. In 1988, they released a full-album cover of Let It Be by The Beatles. A year later, a 12-inch single cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” followed.
