Recorded live in one take, John the Silent has combined field recordings, drones, melodies and traditional Ukrainian religious themes, fed into an analog mixer with out-of-date iPads. Rather than capture the current state of things, John set out to portray the country’s “pre-war normalcy, the moment of crisis and fleeing, and the hope of peace.”

It is a unique piece; one well worth a focused listen.
