The Music Gallery and Arraymusic are hosting a “music-focused memorial” for multimedia artist Michael Snow. The event is scheduled for Jan. 26 in Toronto. Snow’s collective CCMC will perform.
This note accompanied the announcement: “From his iconic 1967 experimental film Wavelength and other groundbreaking films, which include La Région Centrale (1971), to his public art sculptures and installations, which span his career, to his photography, paintings and pioneering role in Toronto’s free improvisation community, Michael Snow’s impact on contemporary Canadian and international art, film and music cannot be overstated.”
There will be no charge for this event.
Those who knew Snow have also been invited to share their memories – submissions will be assembled and given to Snow’s family.
