Composer Rutger Zuydervelt (a.k.a. Machinefabriek) and sound designer Hugo Dijkstal have won best documentary score in this year’s International Sound & Film Music Festival in Croatia. Their work for Berg, directed by Joke Olthaar tied for the top position with Love Martinsen’s work with Maria Loohufvud on Calendar Girls.

“I’m amazed by how beautiful Hugo Dijkstal wove my music together with his sound design,” says Zuydervelt. “Very subtle and poetic. It enhances the already amazing film footage in a fantastic way. It’s an overused word, but I’d say the result is truly immersive.”
