Switzerland’s 14-person Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp will headline the final instalment of The Music Gallery’s 2021-22 season on June 26. Montreal oud performer Sam Shalabi is opening the evening.
The group’s veneration of Duchamp combines “free jazz, minimalist krautrock, symphonic mixtures, post punk within the big band format,” according to a press release. Shalabi is also a guitarist and electronic musician, and a member of multiple groups including Land of Kush.
This has been the first season programmed by The Music Gallery’s new artistic director Sanjeet Takhar. Tickets are available at showclix.com.
