Unsound Sales to Benefit Ukraine This Week

Poland’s Unsound label will donate 100% of its Bandcamp and Shopify sales this week to Salam Lab, a Kraków-based organization working to help Ukrainian refugees.

Unsound describes itself as an “amorphous global-minded festival and creative platform.” In addition to the label, Unsound produces a multimedia festival that has been hosted in 30 different cities.

That includes 11 festivals produced between 2016 and 2018 in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

“The Unsound hometown of Kraków is only a few hundred kilometres away from the Ukrainian border, a city to which many refugees have fled,” reads a statement from Unsound. “In the face of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s invasion, we will continue to spread a message of support for Ukraine, as well all those in Russia and Belarus who oppose this war publicly, despite the risks involved.”

The organization’s artistic director is Mat Schulz.
